DONATE TODAY

Joey’s Song is a charity our family started in 2010 shortly after Joey, our son and brother, died after battling epilepsy his entire life. Our mission is to raise money for the “next family” that has to fight this terrible disease. Joey’s Song raises funds to help support research to find more effective treatments and hopefully someday a cure for seizure disorders and to help fund programs and services for families battling epilepsy with special needs children like Joe.

Our annual benefit concert is our main fundraising vehicle. Each year, multi-platinum recording artist and 3-time Grammy winner Butch Vig brings his band of musical vagabonds (The Know-It-All Boyfriends, aka KIAB) to put on a one-of-a-kind concert. The KIAB serve as a house band to a steady stream of musical stars. Over the years our performers have included Jewel, Glenn Phillips (Toad the Wet Sprocket), Laura Jane Grace (Against Me!),  Dan Navarro (Lowen and Navarro), Brian Ray (guitarist in Paul McCartney’s band), Miguel Cervantes (lead in the Chicago production of Hamilton), Sam Llanas (of the BoDeans), Rhett Miller (of The Old 97’s), Chris Collingwood (from Fountains of Wayne), Cory Chisel (Grammy nominated singer-songwriter) and many others.

To date, we have been a part of over $950,000 raised. We are also 100% volunteer, with no paid staff. You can be assured that your sponsor dollars and any money you help us raise at the event, will all go where it is needed.

Your sponsor dollars will help us meet

our three targets for next year’s event:

ONE: Our goal is to raise $100,000 for C.U.R.E. ( www.cureepilepsy.org ) to fund direct studies into Dravets Syndrome. Dravets is the disease that afflicted Joey.

TWO: Our support for The Epilepsy Foundation of Wisconsin (EFW) helps to fund programs and services that focus on rare epilepsies. Their programs also include free awareness and safety training for anyone that needs it. We have a target of $30,000 for the EFW.

THREE: We are targeting $10,000 to help Gio’s Garden ( www.giosgarden.org ), a respite care facility in Middleton that helps families with special needs children, to fund their building and infrastructure for 2 months with just our donation.

The annual Joey’s Song Benefit is a fun-filled, slightly raucous affair. We have a ton of fun, with some truly world class musicians. The night is uplifting and a whole lotta fun!  By supporting us Joey's Song, you help assure that we can keep helping those that deserve a chance at a cure and the ability to receive the care that they need.
