Joey’s Story

Joey’s Song fights epilepsy with music in memory of Joseph Gomoll, who died in 2010 just shy of his fifth birthday after suffering a debilitating form of epilepsy called Dravet Syndrome.

A smiling young boy with dark curly hair, missing front teeth, wearing a buttoned shirt, indoors with wooden paneling in the background.

Joey Gomoll was diagnosed with Dravet Syndrome as an infant. A rare and catastrophic form of epilepsy, Dravet affects roughly 1 in 15,700 people and has no cure. What it does have is a community of families who refuse to stop fighting.

About Joey

Why Joey’s Song?

Joey's dad Mike founded this organization not just to raise money, but to raise awareness. To make the invisible visible. To give people a reason to show up in the freezing cold and say: we see you, we're here, we're not going anywhere.
